Michelle J. Hirth is a senior attorney in the Intellectual Property Practice Group and the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's San Francisco office.

Areas of Practice

Ms. Hirth specializes in all aspects of trademark and copyright law.  Her practice includes counseling on the adoption of trademarks in the United States and internationally, prosecution and registration of trademark applications in the United States and worldwide, proceedings before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and the United States Copyright Office, ex parte and inter parte proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, enforcement of trademarks worldwide, all aspects of trademark and copyright litigation, trademark licensing, and copyright counseling.

Ms. Hirth also has extensive experience in civil litigation, representing Fortune 500 companies in state and federal court and before administrative agencies.  Ms. Hirth has handled litigation matters involving business torts, the Unfair Business Practices Act, product liability, premises liability, breach of contract, class actions, mass torts, the Federal False Claims Act, complex commercial litigation, Natural Resource Damages, "environmental torts" claims and California Proposition 65.
